Ex-England captain Nasser Hussain has showered praise on Pakistan’s captain, Sarfaraz Ahmed for having an immense fighting spirit in him. He said he really liked the duo of Sarfaraz and head coach Mickey Arthur.
“Pakistan is a very emotional, cricket-loving nation and what Pakistan needs is a street-fighter-type in charge of the team and I mean that in the nicest of ways and Sarfaraz Ahmed is that street-fighter and someone that I would definitely want to go to battle alongside against any opponent,” Nasser said.
Hussain, who featured in 96 Tests and 88 ODIs from 1989-2004, admits that Sarfaraz has made some mistakes but he believes that Pakistan’s captain has got a real fighting spirit in him and will not let his guard down that easily without competing hard.
The 51-year-old also said that it would be wrong to write off Pakistan, bearing in mind their 2017 ICC Champions Trophy triumph, ahead of the 2019 World Cup in England and Wales.
