McKenzie hopeful of Bangladesh outclassing West Indies

Bangladesh have a stiff task ahead of them, as they are scheduled to participate in a tri-series in Ireland involving the hosts and West Indies. The Caribbean batsmen, known for launching monstrous hits, pose an ominous challenge for the Bangladesh cricket team.

Former South African cricketer and current batting coach of Bangladesh, Neil McKenzie is nevertheless unperturbed by the abundance of six-hitters in the West Indies lineup. McKenzie instead declared his squad’s emphasis on playing smart cricket, and outclassing their counterparts on the field through skillful strokes.

“Bangladesh is not going to compete for hitting sixes, with, say, West Indies. We are going to be better than them in skilled hitting. Beating cover, running twos, chipping over cover for four. Hitting really well straight,” he said.
