Opening batsman KL Rahul has had a pretty decent time in the season 12 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) so far as he has scored 520 runs in 12 games so far. The right-hander has been providing Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) with solid starts with the bat.
The flashy batsman has impressed everyone including his fellow opener, Chris Gayle, who feels that Rahul would be the next big thing in Indian cricket after Virat Kohli.
“KL is definitely one of the players that comes to my mind when you talk about the current India players, I hope he produces the goods like Virat. After Virat, it should be him. But it is not necessary for him to put himself under that kind of pressure, he needs to be himself, stay in his zone and try not to compete with anyone” he said.
