Andre Russell likes being called a ‘superhero’

West Indian master blaster Andre Russell recently smashed one of the most unbelievable knocks in T20 cricket as he decimated the Mumbai Indians (MI) batting lineup to score 80 runs off just 40 deliveries, hitting 8 sixes and 6 boundaries.

The all-rounder was pretty excited after the innings as he said that he always keeps things simple and backs his ability to hit big shots at crucial moments of the game.

“If the fans say that I am a super-hero I am happy. Hand-eye co-ordination, good bat speed and balance is important. I generate a lot of power from the shoulders and core. Everything works together. You need to make sure your body is fit and strong in order to play those upward shots in those moments,” he added.

Russell has been included in West Indies’ squad for the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup after his consistent performances strengthened his case for the national side.
