Mohammad Wasim was one of the batting prodigies that Pakistan produced towards the latter part of the 1990s decade. However, inconsistency plagued his career after a promising start and Wasim’s unfulfilled potential remains a story often witnessed in Pakistan cricket.
Nevertheless, the elegant right-hander had his moments of brilliance one of which was epitomized by his fluent knock of 91 versus Australia at Hobart.
This crafty innings saw a then 22-year-old Wasim terrorize Australia’s leg-spin legend Shane Warne. Wasim struck him for 5 brutal fours in the space of a few deliveries, smashing him to varied parts of the ground.
The former Pakistani cricketer recently shared the video of his meaty blows against Warne on Twitter, which perhaps offended the Aussie great to a large extent as he blocked Wasim in return. Finding humor in the situation, Wasim remarked in surprise that Warne had taken offense at this reminder.
