Pakistan’s former captain, Shahid Afridi has landed himself in hot waters as Sindh High Court (SHC) issued a notice to Afridi on a lawsuit filed by a beverages company named Master Beverages and Foods Limited for recovering Rs. 60 million.
Afridi had signed a contract with Master Beverages as their brand ambassador, but also secretly signed an agreement to become a brand ambassador of another renowned beverage company.
While the company argues that according to the contract, Afridi agreed that he would not engage with any other competitor company during the contract period.
However, in violation of the agreement, the defendant's pictures appeared on social media prior to the Pakistan Super League matches promoting the competitors’ brand, the counsel submitted.
The court summoned Afridi on May 28 to answer questions related to the suit. The cricketer can also send a person on his behalf who can answer all such questions.
