Rajasthan Royals pacer Varun Aaron might not be having a memorable time in this year’s Indian Premier League (IPL), but he is confident about India’s chances in the forthcoming World Cup. In fact, the 29-year-old claimed that India will have no problems in defeating archrivals Pakistan in the highly anticipated clash on June 16.
“We've a much better team than Pakistan, there's no reason why we shouldn't win the match against Pakistan,” he opined.
While it is true that Pakistan has never won a World Cup game versus India, the Men in Green will be taking inspiration from their thumping triumph in the Champions Trophy final two years ago.
Varun further argued that the rivalry between India and Australia outweighs the intensity experienced during India-Pakistan clashes.
“I feel India has developed a fierce rivalry with Australia off late and the intensity of India-Australia matches are almost outdoing the intensity of India-Pakistan matches. The rivalry between India and Pakistan will always be there, but the match to look out for will be the India-Australia one,” he added.
