Former Indian skipper MS Dhoni would play the final World Cup of his career in England and Wales this year as he would retire from limited overs cricket right after the conclusion of the mega event.
Indian batting great, Sunil Gavaskar believes that Dhoni would be critical to India’s chances in the World Cup this year as he would hold the key in the lower order when the top three do not do well in any game.
“I think it will be very important because we have a fabulous top-three. But in case the top-three don't make their usual contribution, then Dhoni's contribution down the order, whether it's at number four or five, will make a big difference in India posting a defendable total,” he said.
Moreover, Gavaskar also said that the veteran wicket-keeper would be critical for the Indian bowling as well as he guides them regarding the right areas to bowl, being so close to the batsman.
