Former Australian skipper Steve Smith and vice-captain David Warner would make a return to international cricket in this year’s ICC Cricket World Cup after an exile of 1-year post the sandpaper gate saga.
On their return, head coach Justin Langer has made it clear that both the players would need to show humility in order to adjust to the newly created culture in the Australian dressing room.
“There are certainly going to be challenges for both of them, though. When you've come from a titled position of captain, there's going to be a certain degree of humility that comes with that. But one of our really strong values is humility so it will be a great opportunity for them to develop that,” he said.
The former Australian opener also expressed excitement on the return of both players as they would add great value to the team with their respective experience at the international level.
