Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell is heading into the ICC World Cup 2019 as the X-factor in the team. Maxwell had a great turnaround of events for him in the last year or so. He has been in terrific form with the bat and did not disappoint with the bowl as well.
The 30-year old recently played county cricket for Lancashire which helped him get used to the English conditions before the mega-event. Maxwell is certain on his role for the World Cup campaign. He is looking to emulate his heroics of ICC 2015 World Cup where he scored his maiden ODI hundred, averaged 64.80, and batted with a strike-rate of 182.
Maxwell talked about his role of boosting the run-rate of the team in the middle overs. "It was something that I did reasonably well in 2015, so we are sort of trying to emulate that in this World Cup. Hopefully, I can do it in a similar way".
Australia will enjoy the services of Maxwell with the bat and the bowl in the middle overs of the match. He has been performing well in the recent past and his form is a good sign for Australia going into the biggest cricket carnival this summer.
