West Indies opening pair, John Campbell and Shai Hope have broken the record for the highest first-wicket partnership in a One-Day International with a stand of 365 against Ireland in Dublin. The record-breaking partnership earned West Indies a thumping 196-run win over Ireland.
The duo comfortably eclipsed the previous opening best in ODI’s of 304 set by Pakistan's Imam-ul-Haq and Fakhar Zaman against Zimbabwe in Bulawayo in July last year. It was the first time both West Indies openers made centuries in the same game while 381/3 marks the West Indies' second-highest team score in ODI history.
The Ireland attack was demolished as Campbell and Hope struck a total of eight sixes and 37 fours in a daunting total of 381 for three, Barry McCarthy dismissing both openers to finish with two for 76 from his 10 overs.
