Following the defeat against Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders have been knocked out of the running edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). On a slow pitch, KKR never got going as they managed a paltry total of 133. The harmless score was unlikely to test a strong batting line-up like Mumbai Indians as they gunned down the total within 17 overs.
Dissecting the defeat in the last league stage game against Mumbai Indians, skipper Dinesh Karthik lauded Mumbai’s bowling and added that his bunch was never able to find the needed momentum. The Chennai born cricketer didn’t shy away from admitting the loopholes in the unit as he shared eagerness to overcome them when the unit steps into the next edition of India’s biggest T20 festival.
“Sometimes thing don’t go your way, and that’s fine. It is important to keep trying as a team. That wasn’t our best season and there are a lot of areas for us to improve on. I’m sure that we will come back stronger next year,” said by a crestfallen Dinesh Karthik.
