West Indies' Test player, Shane Dowrich was honoured with an ODI cap in the match against Bangladesh at Dublin. The 30-year old batsman has played 30 Test matches for his country and scored 1402 runs at an average of 29.82.
Shane Dowrich, in the modern era, is the only player who played more Tests before making an ODI debut. He surpassed fellow teammate Kraigg Brathwaite in this record who played 31 Test matches before making an ODI appearance for the Windies.
Shane Dowrich did not have an ideal start to his ODI career. He managed to score only 6 runs on his debut. But this was a moment of pride for Dowrich to represent his team in the ODI format as well.
