All-rounder Shoaib Malik will rejoin the Pakistan cricket team in Southampton on May 9, in the ongoing series against the hosts England, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said in a statement. According to PCB, Malik will be available for selection for Pakistan's second ODI against England to be played on May 11.
On April 29, Malik was granted 10 days leave by the Pakistan team management to return home to deal with a personal issue and was expected to rejoin the team in England later. The exact reason for his unexpected exit was not revealed by PCB.
The seasoned player will be available for the second ODI match against England to be played on May 11 after missing out on the one-off T20I and the first ODI. This year's World Cup will be his last as he has confirmed he will retire from ODIs after the tournament.
