The team (Pakistan) which was known for inventing fast-mode of cricket back in the 1990s, is now struggling to live up to its reputation. Pakistan's batting strike-rate has fallen miserably since the Champions Trophy 2017.
Their average strike rate in first 10 overs of the innings is 4.29 which makes it second worst among all the other playing nations. Nasser Hussain, the former English batsman, feels that "Pakistan could clog their ICC World Cup 2019 way if they continue to play old-fashioned cricket."
Even in the first ODI against England, Pakistan's top-order was struggling to maintain a healthy strike-rate. The career strike-rates of Pakistan's top four batsmen have not been noteworthy as well.
