Australia’s skillful pacer Jhye Richardson has been ruled out of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 tournament. The rising sensation dislocated his shoulder during the five-game ODI series against Pakistan in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and carried the injury. He was named in the World Cup squad with a hope of getting recovered quickly.
However, the recent scans conducted by Australia’s medical staff revealed that the 22-year old isn’t in a position to feature in the forthcoming mega-event.
The news came as a major disappointment for Cricket Australia as they were backing the Western Australia born to do well in the World Cup tournament.
To cover his absence, Kane Richardson has been called up. The 28-year old is already featuring in the warm-up games against New Zealand to be in the best shape for the 50-over competition. Heartened by his inclusion in the team for such a major event, Kane is positive about going strongly in the World Cup event starting later this month in England and Wales.
