ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 tournament is understood to be a swansong event for many veteran cricketers. The list got swelled recently as Afghanistan’s Hamid Hassan has also announced to bid farewell to ODIs after the conclusion of the all-important mega-event. However, he would continue to play the shortest format of the game.
Sharing his views about featuring in the World Cup tournament for Afghanistan, the 31-year old was found in a gleeful mood.
Hamid gave an update of his fitness as he aims to make his last 50-over competition a memorable one and he feels that Afghanistan has the arsenal to beat the top sides of the game. Moreover, the Nengrakar born extended his gratitude to the selection committee for trusting his abilities.
“It is a joyous moment for me to return to the national side after three years and play such a big competition. I may stop playing ODI cricket after this tournament. I have proven my fitness and would aim to give my best shot to the forthcoming 10-team event,” said Hamid Hassan.
