Pakistani fast bowler Mohammad Amir had not made it to the national squad for the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 as his poor form with the ball has prolonged far too long.
However, Amir still has a chance to prove himself worthy of a World Cup spot during the ongoing ODI series against England at their home.
Pakistan bowling coach Azhar Mehmood has said that Amir could still make it to the World Cup squad if he performs well in the England series.
“There’s no doubt about Amir’s skill and ability. We know how much of a good bowler he is and then there’s bad form or self-doubt in his own ability. If he runs in and bowls the way he did in Northampton, I think he has a pretty good chance to come in,” he said.
