Pakistan's former ODI captain, Azhar Ali shared his views regarding the team before the ICC World Cup 2019. Azhar Ali talked about the batting combination of Pakistan ahead of the world cup.
He said, "I think Imam and Fakhar have been doing well up front". "I am sure they will go for the same combination at the top of the order. Hafeez wants to open but he has been doing very well in the middle-order. That is the way it is right now but I am sure the management is weighing up the combination right now". he further added.
Mohammad Hafeez has performed well for Pakistan in the middle ever since the final of Champions Trophy 2017. Same has been the case for the openers, with Fakhar and Imam both averaging 50+ in ODIs, the management has no complications in making its decision.
Sarfraz Ahmad is also likely to bat up the order in the upcoming world cup. This might put Hafeez down the order. However, Pakistan has an ideal opportunity to test their batting order in the series against England.
