Wasim Khan, the newly appointed Pakistan Cricket Board's managing director showed his wish over inviting England and Australia to tour Pakistan in 2002. He wants Pakistan to be able to “evidence what they can deliver” to a global audience and inferred the country has come a long way from the horrible incident in 2009.
Khan feels that the nation deprived of International cricket for almost 10 years now, desperately requires cricket to come back home. "It is a big part of my role, we have got a series against Sri Lanka in September, we are hoping that will be played in Pakistan, but we need to have those conversations with the Sri Lanka cricket board", Wasim said.
He put forward positive hope for Pakistani fans as he indicated to host England and Australia in 2022. "We are also hoping that we can work really closely with the ECB (England Cricket Board) to put steps in place so that there is every chance that the series with England in 2022 happens in Pakistan. Australia, as well, in 2022, so that gives us enough time to evidence what we can do” he added.
