Rishi Kapoor rues absence of Pant from World Cup squad

Young wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant has been making headlines of late with his brilliant performances in all formats. The youngster had a record-breaking start to his Test career while his ODI career has been a rather inconsistent one as he only gets to play when MS Dhoni is not available.

The 21-year-old left-hander recently played one of the most fascinating innings in T20 run chases when he scored 49 off just 21 balls against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), helping his side win the eliminator of season 12 of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

After his unbelievable hitting on Wednesday night, veteran Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor expressed disappointment over Pant’s omission from the World Cup squad as he asked head coach Ravi Shastri and skipper Virat Kohli to justify their decision of dropping such a talented player like the left-hander.
