BCCI permits WAGs to travel with team for World Cup

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has reportedly given permission to wives and family members of players to travel with the team for the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup which is scheduled to be held in England and Wales.

However, the permission has only been granted for a period of 15 days and that too after the initial 21 days of the tournament which means that the wives and girlfriends (WAGs) would be able to join the side before the Afghanistan fixture on 22nd of June.

Indian skipper Virat Kohli had asked the BCCI to allow wives and family members for the entirety of the World Cup but it seems quite unlikely as the board does not want players to have much distractions in the all-important tournament.
