Former Bangladesh skipper and leading all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has made an impressive comeback to the national side after recovering from an infection in his left-hand finger which had kept him away from the game for some time.
Shakib is currently playing for the green shirts in the ongoing tri-series against Ireland and West Indies as a build-up for the World Cup. In an interview, Shakib has revealed that he wants to bat higher in the order so that he could benefit the team in an efficient way.
“For me, I think the earlier the better. So, personally speaking, I want to play at number three. I have also expressed my desire to the coach and the captain and it is up to them to decide. But I don't have any problem to play anywhere for the team,” he said.
He was of the view that the Bangladesh batting has evolved a great deal over the past couple of years and he does not get a chance to bat now up until the 35th over.
