West Indian skipper Jason Holder has always been quite supportive of his players who have gelled so well under his leadership in the last couple of years. He recently heaped immense praise on opening batsman Shai Hope as he said that the youngster might go on to become the best ODI player in history.
“Shai has been our most consistent player over the last two years. He’s the quickest West Indian to 2000 runs, which is a really phenomenal feat. I saw the list of guys on the TV and it’s really good to have him in that company, and if he continues in that vein, he could be arguably one of our best ODI players to ever play,” said Holder.
Hope recently made the 4th consecutive century of his ODI career as the opener of the national side which also helped him register the highest opening partnership of ODI history with John Campbell i.e., 365 runs.
