Life has never been easy for Pakistan’s top-order batsman Imam-ul-Haq who continues to receive backlash due to his association with chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq. Despite being a prolific run scorer of the domestic circuit, Imam presents a picture of nepotism for a major chunk of fans.
Many former cricketers have shared their frustration on the fans’ behavior as they believe that the left-hander has done a great job for Pakistan. The list grows on as the latest man to support Imam’s inclusion in Pakistan team is former English captain Nasser Hussain who took a dig on the critics of the Lahore born cricketer.
Sharing his views on the Peshawar Zalmi player, the cricketer turned commentator added that the denunciation of Imam is ridiculous as he made his way to the national team by scoring a plethora of runs in the domestic cricket. Furthermore, the Chennai born player discussed the International cricket numbers of Imam as he reiterated that the selection of the 23-year old is purely on merit and not because of his relation with the chief selector.
