Pakistan’s aggressive opener, Fakhar Zaman burst onto the cricketing scene in the victorious Champions Trophy campaign two years ago. Punishing the bowlers with his attacking strokes, Fakhar has since then established a reputation of being an explosive customer with the bat.
However, his form has dipped lately and this is visibly expressed in certain changes in his batting style. Wary of these concerns, former Pakistan skipper Ramiz Raja has advised Fakhar to focus on his natural game and unleash his belligerence in the forthcoming World Cup.
“I am a bit worried about Fakhar Zaman because he is trying to alter his batting DNA by playing technically. He should play with positive intent because we get to see Fakhar’s best form when he is hitting and Pakistan [will] get a lot of benefit from it,” he said in an interview.
Pakistan’s batting has been known for its slow scoring rate and Fakhar’s flurry of boundaries at the top of the innings on most occasions determine their fate.
