Former Pakistan skipper Sana Mir has become the most successful spinner in women’s cricket after she overtook Lisa Sthalekar of Australia in the third ODI versus South Africa. The veteran all-rounder dismissed Sune Luus to achieve a major landmark in her career.
Expressing her feelings after accomplishing the milestone, Sana remarked that she rated Sthalekar as one of her bowling inspirations throughout her career.
“Sthalekar was an inspiration when I played my first world cup in 2009. This is a huge moment for me. I’ve always looked up to her,” she said. Sana now trails Jhulan Goswami and Cathryn Fitzpatrick in the list of all-time leading wicket-takers in ODI cricket.
