Pakistan always looked towards their senior cricketer Mohammad Amir as the spearhead of their pace battery. However, the Karachi Kings player has consistently produced spineless outings in his last 15 ODIs or so. Apart from that, Amir catching chicken pox has further dented his inclusion in Pakistan squad for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 event.
However, there is a major chunk of cricket pundits who still want the 27-year old to make it to the final-15 of the green shirts. The list continues to grow as the former Pakistan wicket-keeper batsman Saleem Yousuf decided to jump on the bandwagon.
Explaining the significance of the Gujjar Khan born player, Saleem added that Amir carries a lot of experience which is ideal for a major tournament. The Karachi born admitted the recent failures of Amir but he sits ready to give him a go in the forthcoming mega-event as he foresees Amir delivering well in the English conditions. Pakistan would begin their World Cup journey against West Indies on May 31 in a tournament which is set to get underway from May 30 in England and Wales.
