Pakistan continued their horrific run in the ODI cricket as they lost yet another game which could have been won. Posting a gigantic total of 358 on the board, fans were backing the bowling unit to defend it. However, fielders seemed to be in no mood of backing their bowlers.
Apart from a number of fumbles, Pakistan dropped three crucial catches which allowed England to boss the game and gun down the chase within 45 overs.
This obviously didn’t go down well with the former Pakistan captain Waqar Younis who lampooned the fielding efforts of the green shirts and a spiritless bowling display.
Commentating on the game, the Vehari born said that Pakistan cannot expect to beat top sides if they continue to produce lifeless displays in the field.
The 47-year old believes that the boys in green cannot defend even 400 runs if spilling chances remains a regular event whenever they take the field. Nevertheless, he urged the unit to pick themselves up and come back strongly in the remaining games of the five-match ODI series.
