Saifuddin’s injury revitalizes Taskin Ahmed’s World Cup hopes

Bangladesh’s World Cup campaign is expected to be hit by injury concerns as bowling all-rounder Mohammad Saifuddin has complained about back pain with which he missed the group game against West Indies in the ongoing tri-series in England.

To cover Saifuddin’s absence, Bangladesh gave a go to Abu Jayed who recorded an unimpressive debut before claiming 5 wickets in his second game.

It seems that the think tank is ready to bring back the heart-broken pacer Taskin Ahmed was burst into tears after being omitted from the squad for ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 tournament. However, Jayed’s spirit performance has spiced up the contest.

President of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Nazmul Hassan admitted that Jayed was taken because of Taskin’s injury and if the 24-year old get fits, he can be roped back into the national side.

The news came as a massive boost to the Dhaka born player who is ready to give his absolute best and book a berth for the upcoming mega-event to be played in England and Wales. However, the selectors need to finalize the squad before the cut-off date of May 23.
