Imam-ul-Haq, who is going through a purple patch in his career, has said that he would have been happier if his team had won. The left-hander played a scintillating innings of 151 runs which made him the youngest batsman to score 150 in England.
“If the team had won then it would have been great. This inning has boosted my confidence. I will try to maintain this level of performance in the future matches and try to live up to the team management’s expectations,” Imam said.
The 23-year-old mentioned that the role given to him as an opener by the coach and captain was to stay at the wicket while keeping the scoreboard moving. Pakistan lost 2 early wickets but then Imam along with Haris Sohail steadied Pakistan in the middle overs.
