Former South African opening batsman Gary Kirsten was a pivotal part of the national side during the 90s as he led them to a couple of famous victories during those days. His unbeaten 188 against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) at Rawalpindi is one of the greatest World Cup hundreds ever.
Quite interestingly, former Pakistan all-rounder Yasir Arafat was also present in the stadium on that day. He was one of the ball boys for that match as he recently posted pictures of himself from that day.
The aspiring young cricketer went on to represent Pakistan in the Under-15 Cricket World Cup in England later that year and he also made an official entry to first-class cricket in 1998.
