Shoaib Malik played a handy knock in his comeback innings during the 4th ODI versus England. Accelerating Pakistan’s run rate towards the end of the innings, the senior player showed his class as he marched his way towards a 26-ball 41 that comprised of 4 boundaries.
The end to Malik’s valiant stay at the crease was marred by a bizarre dismissal. Going very deep into his batting stance in order to maneuver the ball through the gaps, Malik inadvertently smashed his own stumps with the bat.
This odd mode of dismissal marks his first instance of getting out hit wicket. Malik’s wicket certainly halted the charge of Pakistani batsmen in the death overs, and they could not really end their innings on a positive note.
