The upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 is going to be a tough challenge for every side as it would not be an easy task to stay dominant over the course of 50 days which would give an equal chance to some of the low ranked sides as well.
The West Indies have got a pretty decent squad for the upcoming event as they have called up some senior players to complement the young talent which has been doing really well of late. Star opening batsman Chris Gayle has said that he aims to do something special for the fans this time as he has been playing for them otherwise he would have given up a couple of years ago.
“Honestly, I do it for the fans, I am not going to lie. Maybe a couple of years ago the thought did cross that I have had enough and what is there to prove. Then the fans came out and said ‘don’t go’. They actually drive me to go on,” he said.
