Imran Nazir reflects on Pakistan’s World Cup chances

With the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 tournament less than two weeks away, all the teams are gearing up their preparations to steal the thunder of the forthcoming mega-event. Meanwhile, former cricketers are busy sharing their take on World Cup campaigns of different teams.

Recently, Pakistan’s belligerent batsman Imran Nazir found time to review the World Cup hopes of Pakistan. The crowd favorite who is currently participating in a local T20 tournament opined that the green shirts can surprise everyone and produce a strong show in the 10-team competition starting from May 30 in England and Wales.

Highlighting the need of bowling with discipline on batting friendly English wickets, the Gujranwala born added that Pakistan would rely heavily on the top-order’s batting prowess as they set the tone of the game. Moreover, the 37-year old also believes that the boys in green should carry a bowler of Mohammad Amir’s caliber in their squad. Pakistan’s World Cup campaign will be commencing against West Indies on May 31 at Trent Bridge.
