England completed another episode of their dominancy as the top ranked ODI team decimated Pakistan in the fifth ODI game to complete a 4-0 series victory. In the final game of the series, hosts decided to bat first after winning the toss. Fifties from Joe Root and Eoin Morgan allowed England to reach 350 which was later defended by the bowling unit.
Producing a smashing start and continuing the momentum, England looked on par to get something in excess of 450. However, Pakistan’s bowling unit recorded a comeback to keep England to 350. After resting for two games, paceman Shaheen Afridi made a comeback and registered an impressive outing.
While the 19-year old conceded 82 runs in his quota of 10 overs but he claimed 4 crucial wickets to halt the brisk run scoring. Apart from few expensive death overs, the Khyber Agency born delivered a fine spell which was engrossed with variations. It was good to see Shaheen among wickets as the Pakistani think tank expects the lionhearted player to do well in ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 tournament.
