Former Sri Lankan cricketer Sanath Jayasuriya, who has often found himself at the center of controversies in recent times, was in the headlines once again. This time, the news related the left-handed opening batsman’s declining health and reports emerging of him travelling to Canada for treatment.
These rumors and fallacious stories have been dismissed by Jayasuriya, who took to Twitter to announce that all such reports were fake news. He reiterated his stable health condition, and stated that he is safe and sound residing in Sri Lanka.
He invoked certain news outlets to stop the spread of fake news that aids their malicious interests. A legendary cricketer in his playing days who revolutionized the art of modern day batting, Jayasuriya was banned for 2 years in February 2019 after he found to be violating ICC’s Anti-Corruption Code.
