The recent drubbing in England dented Pakistan’s confidence ahead of the all-important ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 event. However, it has also provided them an additional time for getting themselves familiar with the conditions. Considering the need, Pakistan also rejigged their World Cup squad by including the experienced pace duo of Mohammad Amir and Wahab Riaz along with fire power of Asif Ali.
Ahead of the mega-event, most of the national cricketers are backing the green team and dynamic batsman Umar Akmal is no exception as he believes that Pakistan has enough gas to steal the thunder of the forthcoming mega-event.
Sharing his feelings on his Twitter handle, the 28-year old wished luck to Pakistan captain Sarfaraz Ahmed for the 50-over event. Moreover, the Lahore born player reflected on the squad and feels that the strength has been augmented with the inclusion of new players. The 10-team tournament is scheduled to get underway from May 30 in England and Wales with Pakistan playing their first game against West Indies on May 31 at Nottingham.
