England rejigs squad for World Cup 2019

Following the series victory against Pakistan, England decided to rejig their World Cup squad by announcing few new entrants into the setup. From the preliminary squad announced last month, Joe Denly and David Willey have been ousted.

Without any surprise, skillful pacer Jofra Archer has been roped into the side for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 event. Impressive outings against Pakistan allowed Chris Woakes and Tom Curran to cement their World Cup places with David Willey ending up as the unlucky player. After Alex Hales’ controversy, James Vince secured his position as the back-up opener with all-rounder Liam Dawson returning to the national reckoning since England’s tour of Sri Lanka in October.

The 15-man announced squad possesses immense strength for which the unit is touted as the red hot favorite team to win the forthcoming mega-event. This squad will be witnessed playing warm-up games against Australia and Afghanistan before starting the World Cup journey against South Africa on May 30.

English squad consists of following names:

Eoin Morgan (skipper), Jos Buttler (wicket-keeper), Jonny Bairstow, Jason Roy, Ben Stokes, Moeen Ali, Liam Dawson, Joe Root, Jofra Archer, Liam Plunkett, Adil Rashid, James Vince, Chris Woakes, Tom Curran and Mark Wood
