Yousuf backs Wahab's selection in World Cup squad

Wahab Riaz’s inclusion in the World Cup squad has come as a surprise for the majority of the people as the left-arm pacer is out of the cricketing scenes with the national team since the Champions Trophy 2017. While there are some eyebrows being raised, former captain, Mohammad Yousuf has come in support of Wahab and has backed the pacer’s inclusion in Pakistan squad.

While talking to media in Lahore, Yousuf highlighted the ability of Riaz with the old ball which can benefit the Pakistan team on English pitches.

“Wahab is exceptional with the old ball and his pace can be beneficial on the flat tracks of England,” said Yousuf. “Wahab has also done well in domestic cricket and deserves a place in the World Cup squad.”

Wahab also mentioned that he was looking forward to the World Cup as the pitches were expected to be dry in England and that would help him reverse swing the ball.
