Pakistan’s team is not going through an ideal time before the ICC World Cup as they have incurred two ODI series white-washes from Australia and England respectively. The recent results have cast doubts on Pakistan’s capabilities to win the World Cup who previously highlighted as one of the favourites to win the mega event.
Following the string of poor results and cryptic photo from Junaid Khan has got media talking of any possible divide within the team. However, Pakistan’s captain, Sarfaraz Ahmed has denied any news of rift within the team.
“I am not sure why people are suggesting that there is tension in this squad. We did not bowl well in this series. England was set to score in excess of 375 to 400 but we took control of the situation. Such allegations that there is any rift in the side are not true,” Sarfaraz said.
Meanwhile, despite the recent series loss, Pakistan’s captain was adamant that his side was ready for the World Cup and would strive hard to deliver positive results.
“Results-wise, it hasn’t been ideal preparation for the World Cup but I am confident we are ready for it because of the way my team responded and because of how the batsmen batted,” he added.
