Australian in-form opening batsman, Usman Khawaja, was rattled by Andre Russell during an unofficial practice match between Australia and the Windies. Usman Khawaja was struck by a quick bouncer which forced him to retire hurt.
He indicated to an area on the right side of his head after the blow and looked in some discomfort as he was escorted off the field. Khawaja went through jaw scans which were cleared later on. Usman Khawaja is hopeful to join the squad for the warm-up match against England on Sunday.
Rampant Australia wants their in-form opener to perform well in this World Cup. Usman Khawaja has played 31 ODIs for Australia and has scored 1238 runs at an average of 44.21. Australia will want him to continue his run fest in the mega event.
