Gulbadin Naib vows to give his best in World Cup 2019

After losing the first game against Ireland, Afghanistan made a solid comeback to draw the two-game ODI series 1-1. In the second match, hosts won the toss and invited Afghanistan to have a go with willow – a decision which went wrong.

Using the batting deck to good effect, Afghan team posted a gigantic total of 305 on the board which was powered by wicket-keeper batsman Mohammad Shehzad’s brisk century. The party didn’t end there as skipper Gulbadin Naib wreak havoc on Ireland by claiming 6 wickets to derail their chase.

Seeing his team delivering a professional performance elated the all-rounder who sits confident of emulating success in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 tournament. The 28-year old believes that Afghanistan has the flair and arsenal to challenge the top sides of the cricketing world.

Reflecting on the forthcoming mega-event beginning from May 30 in England and Wales, the Logar born mentioned the top performers for Afghanistan and added that he is delighted to end the series on a high note as the games boosted his team’s morale. Moreover, the skillful cricketer sees the recently concluded series against Ireland a perfect preparation as his bunch heads into their second major 50-over tournament.
