England captain Eoin Morgan has ‘absolutely no regrets’ over England’s squad selection and is confident they are ‘positioned in the best possible place’ heading into the Cricket World Cup.
Speaking at the launch of England's new kit on Tuesday, Morgan also expressed his desire to inspire a new generation of cricket fans and the hunger within the team to achieve success. Morgan believes his players have the chance to become national heroes over the next seven weeks.
Eoin Morgan has admitted leaving David Willey out of England’s ICC World Cup squad was one of the hardest decisions he has been involved in but he have absolutely no regret in picking Jofra Archer over David Willey.
“I have absolutely no regrets, we're positioned in the best possible place at the moment. Jofra has come in an done exactly what he's been doing for Sussex and other franchise teams around the world. I think he's come on in the games he's played. He's very young with a lot of cricket ahead and if he continues to improve throughout his career he's a very exciting prospect,” Morgan said.
