Relief for Pakistan ahead of the mega-event

Pakistan team has incurred two consecutive ODI series whitewashes, first from Australia and then from World Cup hosts England recently. However, the Pakistan team was short of their two key players against England.

Leg-spinner, Shadab Khan caught an unexpected virus which sidelined him for 4-5 weeks and thus subsequently was dropped from the England series. Second major blow for Pakistani camp was of Mohammad Amir who was suffering from the chickenpox virus.

However, just a week before the World Cup, both of the players have joined the Pakistani camp and have started training in the nets. The comeback of Shadab and Amir is a major boost for Pakistan as they are both match-winners on their day. While Pakistan would be hoping that they will replicate their performance of the last ICC tournament i.e. Champions Trophy.
