Recording a plethora of impressive outings including warm-up game’s victory against Pakistan, Afghanistan is confident of grabbing attention in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 tournament. However, change in leadership right before the mega-event stirred a bit of controversy. But, the newly installed skipper Gulbadin Naib refuted any speculations regarding his team carrying a dented spirit.
On ICC captain’s day, the skillful all-rounder shared that his team is united ahead of the forthcoming 10-team tournament. Reviewing Afghanistan’s leadership framework, the 28-year old added that there is no disharmony in the unit as he carries mutual respect and admiration for former captain Asghar Afghan. In addition to that, the astute cricketer revealed that his bunch is completely focused on making a mark in the 50-over competition starting from May 30 in England and Wales.
“Asghar Afghan is still my captain and not just another player. He guided me a lot against Ireland and Scotland. All of us have one goal: we want to play for Afghanistan and play as a team, whoever the captain is,” shared by Logar born as he oozed with confidence before the commencement of the 50-over competition.
