President Sri Lanka Cricket welcomes Pakistan U-19 team

Pakistan Under-19 team, captained by Rohail Nazir, has touched down in Sri Lanka for a series of five 50-over matches to be played from May 26 to June 5 in Hambantota, Sri Lanka. The series is part of the side’s preparation for next year’s ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup 2020, which will be staged in South Africa from January 17 to February 9, 2020.

Pakistani players were given a warm welcome by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) at the BIA airport while the President of SLC, Shammi Silva penned down a tweet for the visiting team and thanked the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for making this tour possible.

The tour was originally planned from May 6 to 20, comprising two four-day matches and three 50-over matches, but has been rescheduled following the terror attacks in Colombo. However, Pakistan has become the first time to travel to Sri Lanka after terror attacks after Bangladesh refused to send its team.
