The warm-up game between Pakistan and Bangladesh was subject to intermittent showers all day long, as no play was possible. An unfortunate outcome for players and fans, the discussion thus shifted to how players pass time during rain delays.
Sharing his experience from his playing days, Wasim Akram claimed that the dressing room becomes a place of fun activities usually during rain breaks.
“At Lancashire, we used to play with tennis ball in the dressing room. For hours, we used to play that. Some players would play cards. Some players remain indoors. So, every individual or group would do fun stuff since nobody wants to talk about cricket when it’s raining like this,” Wasim related.
He also added an interesting anecdote that one Lancashire player had the duty of observing the movement of clouds to inform updates regarding the weather to his team.
