Former Australian skipper Steve Smith is about to make an official entry to international cricket in the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup in England and Wales after a gap of one year.
The 29-year-old, however, participated in the recent warm-up game against England in which he scored a brilliant match-winning hundred. Smith did not receive a great welcome on his first outing in Australian jersey as he was booed by the English crowd during his walk from the pavilion to the field.
Despite the negative attitude of the crowd, Smith remained focused on the task at hand and played like he used to in the past. He later said that he respects everyone’s opinion and such thing do not matter as long as he has the support of his teammates.
“I'm pretty chilled, everyone is entitled to their opinion. I'm just happy to be back playing and doing a job for my team,” he said.
