Pakistan’s former captain and current chief selector of Pakistan cricket team, Inzamam-ul-Haq is optimistic of the fact that the Men in Green can break the jinx of losing streak against India in the World Cup.
Pakistan, who won the World Cup in 1992, hasn’t managed to beat India in any of the 6 matches they have played across tournaments so far. However, despite 6 defeats against India, Inzamam believes that this time around Pakistan can break their losing streak against India.
“People take Indo-Pak match very seriously and some even go on to say that we will be happy even if only win against India during the World Cup. I’m hopeful that we will end our losing streak against India in World Cup matches,” said Inzamam.
The veteran of 120 Tests, however, said that the World Cup is not just about the match against India, and “Pakistan has the potential to beat other sides as well”. The cricketing giants are yet again slated to play in the World Cup 2019 on the 16th of June at the Old Trafford Cricket Ground.
